Steve Allen was a TV and radio personality who created and was the first host of The Tonight Show, the first late-night television show.  He was a pianist and composer having written more the 8,500 songs, and he won the 1964 Grammy Award for best Original Jazz Composition for "Gravy Waltz".  He also wrote over 50 books.  Allen was a regular panel member on What's My Line, and from 1977-1981 he wrote, produced and hosted the award-winning PBS show Meeting of the Minds (a series of historical dramas presented in a talk format.)  Jayne Meadows, Steve's wife, was an actress nominated for 3 Emmys. She was a regular panelist on Whats My Line, Ive Got a Secret, and To Tell the Truth
