Jerry Bailey is widely regarded as one of the greatest jockeys of all time. His mounts won 5,894 races and more than $296 million during his 31-year career, second only to Pat Day at the time of his retirement. He won each Triple Crown race twice and scored a record five wins in the Breeders Cup Classic. Ron Turcotte was a jockey and the rider on Secretariat, winner of the US Triple Crown in 1973. Patrick Day is a 4-time winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey of the Year. He won 8 Triple Crown races and 12 Breeders Cup races.He retired in 2005 with 8,803 wins (ranked 4th of all time) and as the all-time leading jockey in money earned.He was Easy Goer's jockey in his duel with Sunday Silence. Mike Smith has won the most Breeders' Cup races of any jockey with 27 victories. He is the 3rd leading jockey of all-time in earnings. In 20018 he became the oldest jockey to win the Triple Crown at 52.
