Roy Clark was a country singer and hosted the TV show Hee Haw from 1969 to 1997. In the early 1970s, Clark had been named Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Academy, and he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
