Richie Havens was a singer/songwriter.  His music encompassed elements of fol, soul and r&b.  He was the opening act at Woodstock.  He is best known for his singles "Here Comes The Sun", "Freedom", "Handsome Johnny" and "Rocky Racoon".  Havens performed at the inauguration of Bill Clinton.  He had a few film roles including Greased Lightening alongside Richard Pryor and on stage in The Who's Tommy in 1972.
