John Sebastian is a songwriter and was a member of The Lovin' Spoonful.  Known for wearing tye-die, a highlight of his solo career was his appearance at Woodstock.  He may be best known as a solo performer for writing and recording the theme song from the TV show Welcome Back Kotter.
