Janis Joplin was a singer of blues and psychedelic rock in the late 1960's, and a member of Big Brother and the Holding Company.  She may be best known for "Piece of My Heart" and her versions of "Summertime" and "Me and Bobby McGee".  Janis died less than four months after this concert, on October 4, 1970 at 27 years old.
