Gladys Knight is a singer best known for hits like Midnight Train to Georgia  and I Heard It Through the Grapevine.  Knight performed with her family group Gladys Knight and the Pips until 1987 when she decided to persue a solo career.  She won two Grammys in 1974 for Neither One of Us and Midnight Train to Georgia, and another in 1986 for That's What Friends Are For.  She is often referred to as the Empress of Soul.  In 2022 she received Kennedy Center Honors.
