Chuck Connor was an actor best known for his role as Lucas McCain in The Rifleman (1958-1963). Before that he was a professional athlete, playing in the National Basketball Association for the Boston Celtics from 1946-1948 and Major League Baseball with e Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949 and Chicago Cubs in 1951.
