Charleton Heston starred in over 60 films, including his iconic role as Moses in The Ten Commandments, and also including The Greatest Show on Earth, Planet of the Apes, Julius Caesar, Airport, Soylent Green, Omega Man, and Airport.  He won one Academy Award for Ben Hur. He was an active supporter of the civil rights movement.  He later became a Republican to support Ronald Reagan.  Heston was a five-term president of the National Rifle Association.
