The Beach Boys is a rock band from Hawthorne California initially known for their "California Sound" (surfing, cars and romance). Their many hits between 1960 and 1990 included Surfin', Surfin' Safari, Surfin' USA, Be True To Your School, Fun Fun Fun, Help Me Rhonda, Barbara Ann, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Good Vibrations, Do It Again, In My Room, God Only Knows, and Kokomo. Mike Love was a cousin of the Wilson brothers and was the group's frontman and lead singer from the beginning, and co-wrote many of the Beach Boys' songs. Bruce Johnston joined the group in 1965, filling in for Brian Wilson on tour. He composed Barry Manilow's hit "I Write The Songs".
