Alan King was a comedian and actor.  He appeared many times on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Perry Como Show and the Garry Moore Show, and he became a regular guest host filling in for Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show.  He hosted the Oscars in 1972.  He acted in Bye Bye Braverman, Prince of the City, I The Jury. Cat's Eye, Casino, Night and the City and Memories of Me.  He was a long standing host of the Friars Club celebrity roasts and served as the club's historian.
